Carolina V. Zuccotti
Madrid, España.

I am a sociologist from Argentina, and currently a Marie Skłodowska-Curie (MSCA) Global Fellow at the University Carlos III Madrid and affiliated researcher at the CEDH, Universidad de San Andrés.

My MSCA project, GLAM - Global South Migration and Comparative Integration: A Study of South American Migrants, studies i) how integration patterns of southern migrants and their children in the Global South differ with respect to those of their counterparts in the Global North, and ii) what gains (or loses) southern migrants and their children in Southern and Northern destinations experience with respect to non-migrants in origin countries.

Before joining the UC3M, I was a researcher (2020-2021) at the National Scientific and Technical Research Council, Argentina. I also worked as a research fellow (2017-2019) at the Migration Policy Centre, European University Institute, Italy, where I was part of the MEDAM project on migration and asylum. Formerly, I was a research fellow (2014-2017) at the University of Brighton, UK, where I worked for STYLE, an FP7 international project on youth labour in Europe.

I did my graduate and postgradate studies in various countries and institutions. I completed my PhD in Political and Social Sciences (2015) at the European University Institute, Italy. I also have a MSc in Human Geography, Planning and Development Studies (2010) from the University of Amsterdam, a MA in Urban Studies (2007) from the University of Urbino Carlo Bo, and a Degree in Sociology (2006) from the University of Buenos Aires.

My studies and research have received funding from national and international institutions and programs, including NUFFICNational Scientific and Technical Research Council, ECSR and EU Horizon 2020.

My research interests include: social inequality & stratification; ethnicity & migration; spatial segregation, neighboruhood effects and residential mobility; and quantitative methods.
