Un frecuente debate vigente y actual se presenta en torno a la polémica que suscita ciertos mecanismos de control y regulación por parte del Estado en dirección a la población que tutela. En el presente artículo se intentará dar cuenta y explayar las concepciones que ciertos autores han plasmado acerca de esta situación y su cosmovisión de esta problemática. En las siguientes líneas se tiene como finalidad revisar como es pensado el ejercicio del biopoder como herramienta regularizadora de la población por parte del Estado, un fenómeno particular que se comienza a entrever a fines del siglo XVIII. En segundo lugar, se desarrollaran las ideas presentadas por Nikolas Rose acerca de lo que el denomina el Gobierno del Alma. Luego, presentar los conceptos de Nikolas Rose se intentará hacer un enlace lógico con la lectura del trabajo realizado por Kurt Danziger en torno a como la psicología como ciencia se ve atravesada por las realidades económicas, políticas y sociales de la época. Finalmente, hacer un seguimiento de cómo en la psiquiatría americana también se ha postulado como herramienta apta para los fines de regulación social. Para elaborar este fenómeno se trabajará con conceptos desarrollados por William Menninger. In the present article we will try to give an account and expand on the conceptions that certain authors have expressed about this situation and its cosmovision of this problem. The purpose of the following lines is to review how the exercise of biopower is thought of as a regularizing tool for the population by the State, a particular phenomenon that began to be glimpsed at the end of the 18th century. Secondly, the ideas presented by Nikolas Rose about what he calls the Government of the Soul will be developed. Then, present the concepts of Nikolas Rose will try to make a logical link with the reading of the work done by Kurt Danziger about how psychology as a science is crossed by the economic, political and social realities of the time. Finally, follow up on how in American psychiatry it has also been postulated as a suitable tool for the purposes of social regulation.
