Este trabajo presenta la etapa inicial de una investigación doctoral sobre el uso y atención prestada por lectores universitarios a las fuentes de textos. El objetivo de esta etapa fue validar los materiales a utilizar en experimentos posteriores. En una primera fase,80 alumnos universitarios de Buenos Aires determinaron mediante escalas tipo Likert el grado de credibilidad percibida para 28 fuentes (siendo 1 muy poco creíble y 10 muy creíble). Se seleccionaron 2 fuentes primarias creíbles (M= 6.55 y M= 6.57), 2 poco creíbles (M= 1.68 y M= 1.92) y 2 fuentes incrustadas neutras (M= 5.82 y M= 4.67) . La segunda fase consistió en el análisis de la coherencia textual y en la igualación de 2 textos de ciencia, tomados originalmente de sitios web de divulgación. El análisis se realizó con el programa Expository Text Analysis Tool (Vidal Abarca et al., 2003) y permitió igualar la estructura (título y 3 párrafos entre 171 a 187 palabras) y la cantidad de relaciones entre ideas del texto (39 y 42). Los textos y fuentes obtenidos en este estudio preliminar serán utilizados en estudios con diseño experimental a implementar en las etapas subsiguientes. Two credible primary sources (M= 6.55 y M= 6.57), two unreliable sources(M= 1.68 y M= 1.92), and two encrusted neutral sources were selected.The following step consisted of analysis of textual cohesion and in equating two science writings, taken from divulgation websites. The analysis was conducted with the computer program Expository Text Analysis Tool (Vidal Abarca et al., 2003) and allowed for the leveling of the text’s structure (the title and 3 paragraphs between 171 and 187 words long) and quantity of relationships between the text’s ideas (39 and 42).The writings and sources obtained in this introductory study will be utilized in further experimental studies and implemented in subsequent stages.
