Varias investigaciones analizan la modulación que ejerce el temperamento y el nivel socioeconómico durante el desarrollo cognitivo y el desarrollo en paralelo de las FE y la comunicación temprana, sin embargo, aún se verifica escases de estudios de estos temas en la infancia temprana. Se analizaron los siguientes objetivos a) la relación recíproca entre la comunicación temprana y las funciones ejecutivas en infantes de 18 a 24 meses (N=60) c) evaluar si estas capacidades cognitivas se veían influenciadas por los estilos temperamentales y la pertenencia de los niños a hogares con y sin necesidades básicas insatisfechas. Se encontró que existen correlacionas estadísticamente significativas entre las conductas de comunicación y FE, sin embargo, sólo la comunicación predice las FE y no viceversa. Todas las habilidades cognitivas evaluadas estaban moduladas por diferencias ambientales e individuales. Se concluye que ya en este rango etario se puede apreciar el desarrollo en paralelo entre ambas habilidades, y que el entorno social y las características individuales modulan el desempeño de las FE y comunicación en los primeros años de vida. Esto resalta la importancia de guiar las políticas públicas en intervenciones destinadas a optimizar el contexto y particularidades individuales de los infantes. ANALYZING THE ROLE OF TEMPERAMENT AND SOCIAL VULNERABILITY Several studies analyze the modulation exerted by the temperament and the socioeconomic status during the cognitive development and the parallel development of the FE and the early communication, nevertheless, there are still shortages of studies of these subjects in the early childhood. The following objectives were analyzed a) the reciprocal relationship between early communication and executive functions in infants aged 18 to 24 months (N = 60) c) assess whether these cognitive abilities were influenced by temperamental styles and children’s belonging to homes with and without unsatisfied basic needs. It was found that there are statistically significant correlations between communication and FE behaviors, however, only communication predicts EF and not vice versa.All the cognitive abilities evaluated were modulated by environmental and individual differences. It is concluded that already in this age range the development in parallel between both abilities can be appreciated, and that the social environment and the individual characteristics modulate the performance of the FE and communication in the first years of life. This highlights the importance of guiding public policies in interventions designed to optimize the context and individual characteristics of infants.
