La Teoría de las representaciones sociales se presentan como un medio para abordar los conocimientos prácticos socialmente construidos y compartidos intersubjetivamente mediante los cuales las personas construyen significados sobre sí mismo y sobre los otros (Seidmann, Azzollini, Thomé, Di Iorio, 2011). Desde el análisis del discurso se han realizados una serie de críticas a la Teoría de las Representaciones Sociales, estableciendo que las investigaciones enmarcadas en esta teoría no logran superar los problemas epistemológicos y metodológicos que tiene la psicología social tradicional (Potter y Wetherell, 1986; Parker, 1987). En este artículo se responderán a aquellas críticas a partir de los aportes realizados por Markova (2000) y Jovchelovitch (1996). No obstante se postula que la tradición del análisis del discurso puede brindar herramientas para el análisis del uso argumentativo de las representaciones sociales, punto poco desarrollado en esta teoría (Voelklein y Howarth, 2005). Se propone una primera postulación de la posibilidad de indagar los thematas y temas que rigen determinadas representaciones sociales (Liu, 2004) a partir de las herramientas que puede brindar un análisis orientado a texto (Fairclough, 1992). In this study those critics will be answered through the works of Markova (2000) and Jovchelovitch (1996). Nevertheless, it is establish that the tradition of discourse analysis could bring tools for the analysis of the argumentative use of the social representations, point not quite developed by the theory (Voelklein y Howarth, 2005). It is propose a first approach to the themata and themes that organize social representations (Liu, 2004) through the tools given by a textual oriented discourse analysis (Fairclough, 1992).
