El uso indebido de alcohol en adolescentes es una práctica influenciada por un sistema de representaciones que la promueven como alternativa de socialización. Al respecto el objetivo fue indagar las ideas, creencias y patrones del consumo de dicha sustancia, partiendo de identificar como problema su naturalización, agravada por la impulsividad y omnipotencia propias de la conducta adolescente, que provoca en ellos una baja percepción del riesgo. La población estuvo conformada por ingresantes (17 a 20 años) a la Facultad de Psicología. Para indagar las representaciones y caracterizar los patrones de consumo se realizaron observaciones y se administraron la Encuesta CORAL 50 y entrevistas etnográficas. A partir del análisis cuanti-cualitativo de los datos se definieron categorías de análisis. Se observó que no hay un reconocimiento del alcohol como droga, lo que refuerza la naturalización de su consumo y que los adolescentes asocian su peligrosidad al régimen legal de proscripción y no a la idea de riesgo. Si bien, en general, hay conciencia del límite entre uso y abuso, se admite una tendencia a transgredirlo. En cuanto a los patrones de consumo: la frecuencia es de fines de semana y la cantidad no reconoce diferencias de género. Palabras clave Representaciones Patrones consumo Adolescencia ABSTRACT UNDUE USE OF ALCOHOL: REPRESENTATIONS AND PATTERNS IN ADOLESCENT, STUDENT BEGINNERS AT THE NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF CÓRDOBA The undue use of alcohol in adolescents is a practice influenced by a system of representations that promote it as socialization alternative. In this respect the objective was to investigate the ideas, beliefs and patterns of the consumption of this substance, identifying its naturalization as a problem, increased by the impulsivenessandomnipotencecharacteristicoftheadolescent behavior that it causes in them a low perception of the risk. The population was conformed by 380 students that just begin the career (17 to 20 years) in the Psychology Faculty. To investigate the representations and to characterize the consumption patterns they were carried out observations and they were administered the Survey CORAL 50 and etnographic interview. Starting from the cuanti-qualitative analysis of the data they were defined analysis categories. It was observed that there are not a recognition of the alcohol like drug, what reinforces the naturalization of their consumption and that the adolescents associate their danger to the legal régime of proscription and not to the idea of risk. Although, in general, there is conscience of the limit between use and abuse, a tendency is admitted to transgress it. As for the consumption patterns: the frequency is of weekends and the quantity doesn’t recognize gender differences. Key words Representations Consumption patterns Adolescence
