El tema de las adicciones plantea un panorama complejo. Se considera el tema de los consumos de sustancias potencialmente aditivas, en particular el consumo de alcohol en estudiantes universitarios. Se orienta a considerar algunos aspectos sociales y culturales que permean la cotidianeidad de estos estudiantes universitarios, y cómo ciertos consumos inciden en su situación estudiantil. Se aplicó una encuesta y se tomaron entrevistas en profundidad. Los primeros resultados ubicaron el inicio del consumo entre los 14 y 15 años, las bebidas preferidas son cerveza y tragos como fernet con coca; entre las razones aducidas para consumir resaltaron el sabor, el bienestar con sus amigos; revelándose importante la presión del grupo de pares para consumir. No aparece claramente relación entre el consumo de alcohol y el rendimiento académico En este aspecto el tiempo dedicado al estudio diario es muy limitado, no pudiendo señalarse si esta práctica tiene alguna relación con el consumo de alcohol. El motivo del consumo aparece relacionado significativamente a una necesidad de estar bien con el “otro”. La figura del “otro” está referida de modo recurrente a los amigos o el entorno próximo. También se hace referencia al consumo en relación con necesidades personales, tales como paliar sentimientos de tristeza, inseguridad e insatisfacción. Thecomplexproblemsofaddictions,imposesaninterdisciplinary work. This is a report on the use of potentialy adicctive substances-specially alcohol- among university students. The view includes a snapshot on the daily influence of those substances on his way of life. This stage of research shows the preliminary analysis of the answer of students to a questionaire, and to an interview. They indicate that beginning of the use of addictive substances occurs between 14 and 15 years. They prefer beer and drinks like fernet with cola, because of the taste, welfare, and the influence of the group of close friends. The relationship between alcohol an academic performance is not well shown: the short time dedicated to study (less than one hour), and the addiction could not be linked. A correlation between addiction and the need of having good-feeling together with the friend, rises more clear. Personal feelings like sadness and weakness in character or insecurity of himself, appears in second place. Key words Representations Practices Substances Students
