Este trabajo se basa en el plan de tesis doctoral titulado “Percepciones y experiencias afectivas en torno a las modificaciones corporales de personas trans que realizan transiciones de sexo/ género en el Hospital Gutiérrez de La Plata. Una aproximación desde el giro material y afectivo”. Su objetivo principal es explorar las percepciones y afectos presentes en las modificaciones corporales (quirúrgicas y hormonales) en personas trans, para lo cual se sistematizarán nuevos enfoques teóricos en el ámbito de los feminismos y de la teoría queer, intersex y transgender, que destacan la importancia de la materialidad corporal en la formación de la subjetividad sexo-generizada. Los aportes del giro afectivo y de los nuevos materialismos feministas no fundacionalistas nos permiten investigar cómo los afectos intervienen en las prácticas de modificación corporal presentes en las transiciones de sexo/género, y cómo participa en estas la materialidad del cuerpo, entendida como un registro no reducible a la subjetividad. En este contexto, es crucial indagar no sólo cómo los procesos de transformación material del cuerpo influyen en las representaciones que los sujetos tienen sobre su propia identidad de género, sino también cómo estas prácticas impactan en sus experiencias de lo corporal en su dimensión material. Palabras clave Giro Afectivo - Neomaterialismo - Corporalidad Trans - Teoría Queer ABSTRACT TRANS BODY MODIFICATIONS: COORDINATES FOR AN INVESTIGATION FROM THE MATERIAL AND AFFECTIVE TURN This paper is based on the doctoral thesis plan entitled “Perceptions and affective experiences around body modifications of trans people who make sex/gender transitions in the Gutierrez Hospital of La Plata. An approach from the material and affective turn”. Its main objective is to explore the perceptions and affects present in body modifications (surgical and hormonal) in trans people, for which new theoretical approaches in the field of feminisms and queer, intersex and transgender theory will be systematized, which emphasize the importance of bodily materiality in the formation of sex-gendered subjectivity. The contributions of the affective turn and the new non-foundationalist feminist materialisms allow us to investigate how affects intervene in the practices of bodily modification present in sex/ gender transitions, and how the materiality of the body participates in these, understood as a register that cannot be reduced to subjectivity. In this context, it is crucial to investigate not only how the processes of material transformation of the body influence the representations that subjects have about their own gender identity, but also how these practices impact their experiences of the body in its material dimension.
