El estudio de las representaciones sociales sobre la elección educativa y la futura formación universitaria, adquiere relevancia a fin de dar cuenta de la relación de éstas con las trayectorias educativas y laborales que trazan los jóvenes en su proyecto profesional. En esta producción se abordará específicamente la representación sobre el perfil educativo para constituirse en alumno universitario de carreras de Ingeniería, en el Marco del Programa Integral para el Ingreso Universitario, en donde confluyen el Eje de Revisión de Conocimientos y el Eje de Orientación Educativa. Los datos cualitativos son obtenidos a partir de encuentros grupales con metodología de aula-taller coordinados por Orientadores y docentes, y entrevistas personalizadas a cargo de los orientadores, con el 80% de los ingresantes a carreras de la Facultad de Ingeniería de la UNCPBA, sede Olavarría. Los estudiantes manifiestan la importancia de desarrollar el sentido de la responsabilidad, del esfuerzo y de la constancia para con el tiempo dedicado al estudio. También asignan importancia a la formación previa orientada hacia las ciencias exactas y tecnológicas. Destacan también que se han motivado a elegir Ingeniería por las muy promisorias perspectivas de inserción laboral que escuchan en los medios de comunicación y de sus profesores de Educación Media.
