En este escrito se presentan avances del trabajo de investigación perteneciente Pro-In-Psi, 2006-2008. Se trata de un estudio de tipo cualitativo, en el que a través del análisis del discurso se intenta alcanzar el siguiente objetivo general: caracterizar el vínculo de la angustia con el síntoma y la alteración del yo a partir de 1923 en la obra de Freud. En razón de situar las anticipaciones en la obra de Freud a nuestra temática, procedimos a rastrear los nexos de la angustia con los diversos tipos clínicos en los textos freudianos en el período comprendido entre 1917 a 1923.
