Este trabajo se enmarca en la investigación UBACyT 2018-2021 “La urgencia en salud mental en el hospital público en la República Argentina” dirigida por la Dra. en Psicología María Inés Sotelo. Se trata de un estudio descriptivo-interpretativo cuyo objetivo principal es caracterizar la población que consulta en urgencia en salud mental, así como el modo de intervención y resolución de dicha urgencia en diferentes hospitales públicos de la República Argentina. Ante la complejidad en las demandas de la población que consulta, se considera que la realización de este tipo de investigaciones es de fundamental importancia para la adecuación de los diversos dispositivos de guardia en salud mental y de los modos de intervención de los profesionales. En este escrito acercamos una hipótesis provisoria en relación a las situaciones de toxicomanía que se presentan en la guardia de salud mental durante el período de pandemia COVID-19. It is a descriptive-interpretative study whose main objective is to characterize the population that consults in mental health emergency, as well as the way of intervention and resolution of said urgency in different public hospitals of the Argentine Republic. We consider that the realization of this type of research is of fundamental importance for the adaptation of the various guarding devices in mental health to the changes in the demand of the population that consults, as well as the ways of intervention of the professionals. In this paper we approach a provisional hypothesis in relation to the drug addiction situations that appear in the mental health emergency room during the pandemic period COVID-19.
