El presente trabajo se enmarca en una investigación UBACyT acerca de los procesos de construcción de realidades sociales e identidad en “jóvenes invisibles” (Reutlinger, 2001). Dicha nominación alude a su exclusión del nivel formal en instituciones tradicionales -educativos y laborales-. Este trabajo tiene como objetivo, desde la mirada de esta población, dar cuenta de significados y atribuciones que circulan en torno al trabajo.Tipo de estudio: cualitativo de diseño exploratorio. Se presentan resultados a partir de 30 entrevistas en profundidad, realizadas a jóvenes de distintos grupos socioeconómicos (clase media, clase baja, y situación de calle), residentes en la Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires y conurbano bonaerense, seleccionados a través de un muestreo no probabilístico intencional. Los ejes de indagación incluyeron: conocimientos y prácticas de la vida cotidiana; trayectorias, definiciones y valoraciones sobre lo laboral y lo educativo; y definiciones acerca del sí mismo. Se trabajó con el discurso de los entrevistados para dar cuenta de las operaciones que permiten reconstruir el contenido de las representaciones en torno al trabajo. Dichos contenidos socialmente construidos parecen sostenerse en la themata adentro/afuera, materializados a partir de la inclusión o no en el sistema laboral formal, y las explicaciones que de allí se desprenden. Palabras clave RRSS, Juventud invisible, Trabajo, Exclusión social Abstract INVISIBLE YOUTH: SOCIAL REPRESENTATIONS ABOUT THE LACK OF INCLUSION IN THE WORK WORLD This study was developed in the frame of a research -UBACyT Project- about social realities and identity construction in “invisible youth” (Reutlinger, 2001), ages between 18-30 years old. This name refers to people who are excluded from the formal belonging to traditional institutions -at work and education- This study looks forward, to giving account of meanings and attributions about labor, from their singular point of view. Research character: Qualitative with an exploratory design. The results are presented taking into account 30 depth interviews, which were carried out with young people from different social-economic groups (middle class, low class, and homeless), living in Buenos Aires City and Great Buenos Aires, who were selected through an intentional non-probabilistic sample. The research axes were: knowledge and practices of everyday life, paths definitions and ideas on work and education; and definitions about their self, considering each affinity group. The study included the participants speech, in order to understand work representations.These social representations seem to be supported on the “in/out themata”, materialized on the basis of their inclusion (or not) in the formal labor system, and their explanations.
