Nos interesa desarrollar las características del superyó en la actualidad para arribar a las consecuencias que tiene en nuestra civilización signada bajo la época del Otro que no existe, a partir del film Shame. Cuando Freud escribe El malestar en la cultura concluye que ésta se ubica en posición antagónica con respecto a las exigencias pulsionales ya que se edifica sobre la base de la renuncia a lo pulsional. Esta renuncia es la causa de la hostilidad de los seres humanos. Como intento de controlar esta agresividad y volverla inocua ubica allí la génesis del Superyó; y con respecto a la exigencia y crueldad de éste podemos leer una paradoja fundamental: ya que a mayor renuncia mayor exigencia. La época de Freud (época victoriana, sociedad represiva) no es la de hoy; ya que mientras el discurso del amo funcionaba y limitaba el circuito del superyó; producía una separación del plus de gozar, instalaba una barrera entre el $ y este goce; hoy en cambio se restablece el circuito entre el a y el $, hay conexión entre ambos términos; tenemos entonces un plus de gozar desregulado. A STUDY CONNECTED TO THE FILM SHAME Based on the film Shame, the main purpose of this piece of work is to develop the characteristics of the superego nowadays in order to know the consequences on our civilization, which is marked by the time of an unexisting Other. When Freud wrote Civilization and Its Discontents, he concludes that culture is opposite to pulsional requirements, because culture remains and is built on a rejection to the pulsional. This rejection explains the hostility of the human being. As an attempt to control this aggressiveness and to turn it harmless, Freud claims the genesis of the superego to be there. Regards the hostility and cruelty of it, we may reach to a fundamental and paradoxical reality: more rejection means more demand. Freud’s time in history (the Victorian age with its repressive society) is not like todays age. This is because the Discourse of the Master established boundaries on the circuit of the superego and built a wall between the subject ($) and the feeling of enjoyment. On the other hand, nowadays the circuit between the object (a) and the subject ($) is re-established and they are both related items. As a result, there is a deregulated enjoyment.
