Mientras que el acto psicoanalítico establece cuál es la trayectoria necesaria para devenir psicoanalista; la vía del análisis de control se orienta hacia el objeto analista y hacia las vicisitudes de su operación. Se trata de considerar los términos en los que es posible pensar el control articulado al concepto de acto analítico. La formación del analista consiste en: ¿Cómo saber en la experiencia, no ser sujeto del inconsciente? Esta antinomia entre acto // inconsciente es el punto de partida que se expresa en el “Yo no pienso” expresión de certeza que experimenta el analista practicante. Cuando esta situación se perturba da por resultado un lapsus del acto. Es la causa que dirige al analista practicante a controlar. ¿Puede plantearse que no hay formación del analista, que sólo hay formación del inconsciente? De hecho, el analista solamente se vuelve una formación del inconsciente cuando hay lapsus de su acto; entonces, sí, debe ser interpretado. Este recorrido se orienta a considerar la dimensión interpretativa del control a la luz de las consideración de Lacan desde el Acto de fundación de la Escuela Freudiana de Paris hasta el período del Seminario XV “El acto del psicoanalista” y sus escritos contemporáneos.
