Este trabajo tiene el objetivo de interrogar el estatuto del padre, su función en la economía psíquica subjetiva, y sus articulaciones con la época.Analizaremos las implicancias de la declinación de la imago paterna a fin elucidar el desplazamiento que se produce de la paternidad a la parentalidad como nuevas formas del lazo familiar. Nos interesa abordar el concepto de tradición como construcción social y por ende sujeto a cambios históricos que nunca son tajantes. ¿Que es un padre? ¿Sus formas tradicionales, sus formas nuevas? Son las preguntas que nos guían respecto de este “pez difícil de atrapar”... que sigue siendo objeto de nuestro estudio. En ese sentido tomaremos una pequeña secuencia de la película de Tim Burton “El gran pez” para extraer algunas consideraciones atinentes a nuestro tema. A FISH HARD TO CATCH The aim of this piece of work is to question the state of the father, his function in the subjective psychic economy and his articulations with time. We will analyse the implications of the so called declination of the paternal image with the goal to shed light into the displacement that takes place from fatherhood to parenthood as a new way to see the family bond. We are very much interested in dealing with the concept of tradition as a social construction, thus subjected to historical changes that are never strict nor unchangable. What is a father? his traditional ways? His new, modern ways? These are some of the questions that guide us through this ‘fish hard to catch’ which is still the object of our study.To this end, we will take a short sequence from the Tim Burton film ‘Big Fish’ in order to make use of some pertinent considerations to our topic.
