En el análisis y categorización de las entrevistas realizadas en el marco de la investigación “Función de abuelidad y transmisión intergeneracional en las configuraciones familiares actuales” de la Facultad de Psicología de la UNLP. Surge como efecto en la transmisión el esfuerzo para ser abuelo hoy, la narrativa de la historia con sus propios abuelos deja traslucir brechas, hiancias y ciertos vacíos de significación que exigen recomposiciones y reorganizaciones libidinales que garanticen la posibilidad de ocupar un lugar significativo con respecto a sus nietos posibilitando una placentera mutualidad. El abuelo enuncia saberes como reservorio de su historia que sirven de disparadores de los saberes del nieto y que generan en el mejor de los casos una reciproca novedad, novedad que interpela al viejo en su lugar y al abuelo en su función de trasmisión y legado. Efectos en la transmisión entre lo que se quiere transmitir conscientemente y lo que efectivamente se transmite, que contiene fragmentos de la vida psíquica en tanto narrativa, en su doble acción por un lado adueñarse de lo recibido al mismo tiempo de imprimir el propio sello. Efecto de mutualidad entre abuelos y nietos marcado muchas veces por la sorpresa en los abuelos ante el efecto de sentido que desde los nietos surgen.
