En etapas tempranas del desarrollo, la alfabetización o el uso inteligente de la escritura (Ravid & Tolchinsky, 2002) y de representaciones externas culturalmente significativas (ej. notación numérica, ilustraciones) (Harris, 1995; Teubal, 2010) exige disponibilidad y circulación social de tales sistemas simbólicos. Lamentablemente, en poblaciones indígenas de nuestro país, entre ellas los wichí, la circulación de la lengua escrita y de otras representaciones externas culturales es reciente y escasa, en consecuencia la exposición a éstas y su uso son insuficientes, dejando en desventaja a los niños. Se presentan los resultados de un PDTS (2016-2018) destinado a incrementar la presencia y uso de la lengua wichí escrita y de representaciones externas culturalmente significativas en las comunidades de Laguna Yema, Formosa. Junto a integrantes de la Comunidad Wichí Lawet se elaboró la primera colección de libros infantiles en lengua wichí “Hunhat lheley” (habitantes de la tierra) y se planificaron talleres de alfabetización infantil. Se editaron y distribuyeron libros en comunidades wichí; se realizaron talleres de alfabetización y se fortalecieron habilidades, metacognitivas y metalingüísticas, de hablantes nativos durante el proceso de elaboración de libros y dictado de talleres. Se discute la importancia de la tranferencia científica en psicología para el desarrollo socialcomunitario y cultural. Unfortunately, in indigenous populations of our country, like the Wichi, the circulation of the written Wichi language as well as others external representations is recent and limited; therefore, the exposition to them and their use are insufficiently, leaving children in disadvantage. This work presents the results of a PDTS (2016-2018) focused in increasing the presence and use of the written Wichi language and other external representations culturally significant at the Wichi communities from Laguna Yema, Formosa. Along with members of the Wichi Lawet Community the first children’s books in Wichi language “Hunhat lheley” (Inhabitants of the earth) were created and children’s literacy workshops were planned. The books were edited and distributed among Wichi communities, literacy workshops were carried out and the metacognitive and metalinguistic abilities of the native speakers were fortify in the process of the creation of the books and the dictation of the workshops. The importance of the application of psychological scientific studies for social-community and cultural development is discussed.
