Apresenta-se um recorte da pesquisa “Investigación psicoanalítica sistemática del acoso cibernético. Estudio exploratorio en estudiantes de secundaria Argentina, México, Uruguay y Brasil” aplicada também no Egito (Damietta). Segundo Belsey (2004) o cyberbullying trata-se de uma modalidade de bullying que usa as tecnologias da informação e comunicação (TICs) tais como: e-mails, celulares, mensagens de texto e outras redes sociais virtuais – com fins difamatórios e/ou para apoiar o comportamento hostil, deliberado e repetitivo de um sujeito ou grupo com objetivo de causar dano ao outro. A investigação buscou explorar qualitativamente o grau de conhecimento dos estudantes do ensino médio sobre o fenómeno. Conhecer as características do cyberbullying em diferentes contextos culturais. A metodologia refere-se a um estudo exploratório-descritivo, de caráter qualitativo, transcultural, com perspectiva psicanalítica. O instrumento foi composto por 07 perguntas abertas, aplicadas em 15 estudantes de uma escola pública de New Damietta, sendo 02 destes do sexo masculino e o restante feminino. Os resultados encontrados apontaram o conhecimento dos mesmos sobre o assunto, em sua maioria referiram-se ao fenômeno “Baleia Azul” e como consequência, indicaram o suicídio, sugerindo a necessidade de uma abordagem de enfrentamento, prevenção e proteção da sociedade frente a esta problemática. The methodology refers to an exploratory-descriptive, qualitative, cross-cultural study with a psychoanalytic perspective. The instrument was composed of 07 open questions, applied in 15 students of a public school in New Damietta, of which 02 were male and the remaining female. The results showed the knowledge about the subject, which mostly referred to the phenomenon “Blue Whale” and as a consequence, indicated suicide, suggesting the need for a outreach, prevention and protection approach of the society at the head of this problem.
