La sociabilidad estudiantil ha sido un fenómeno estudiado por diferentes autores (Carli, 2012; Gómez, 2016; Pierella, 2011; Piola, 2015; Simmel, 2002) quienes dan cuenta de los modos en que esta se despliega y en el impacto que tiene en la experiencia estudiantil, en el vínculo que el sujeto establece con la institución y con el conocimiento. Estos fenómenos fueron estudiados en una investigación que buscaba comprender cuáles eran las vinculaciones que existían entre las significaciones sociales que se habían cristalizado en el imaginario acerca de instituciones del nivel superior y el posicionamiento que asumían estudiantes de 1° año frente al aprendizaje. Se trabajó con una muestra compuesta por 20 estudiantes a los que se les administró entrevistas en profundidad. Se concluyó que el motor que operaba promoviendo el encuentro con el otro semejante era activado por una mixtura de motivos. La socialización estudiantil cumplió predominantemente una función social -que involucró aprendizajes que contribuyeron a concretar la pertenencia institucional-, una función emocional -que operó como sostén y apuntalamiento- y una función cognitiva -que incidió en la complejización de los procesos de simbolización-. Funciones que visibilizaron la potencia que tiene la socialización estudiantil en la configuración del vínculo educativo en la universidad. Palabras clave Universidad - Sociabilidad estudiantil - Apuntalamiento emocio- nal - Procesos de simbolización ABSTRACT THE SOCIABILITY IN UNIVERSITY STUDENT EXPERIENCE Student sociability has been a phenomenon studied by different authors who give an account of the ways in which it is deployed and the impact on the students’ experience, the link with the institution and knowledge. These phenomena were studied in an investigation that sought to understand what were the links that existed between the social meanings that had crystallized in the imaginary about higher level institutions and the positioning assumed by first-year students regarding learning. We worked with a sample composed of 20 students who were given in-depth interviews. It was concluded that the engine that operated promoting the encounter with the similar was activated by a mixture of motives. Student socialization predominantly fulfilled the social function, which involved learning that contributed to concretize institutional belonging, an emotional function that functioned as support and support, and a cognitive function that influenced the complexity of the symbolization processes. Functions that made visible the power of student socialization in the configuration of the educational link in the university.
