El presente escrito surge a partir del proyecto de investigación de la cátedra de Clínica de adultos y gerontes de la Facultad de psicología de la UNLP, cuyo objetivo es el estudio teórico de la toxicomanía en tanto síntoma de la época. Tomamos la definición que Miller (1998) hace del síntoma en tanto aparato para localizar al objeto a, éste pensado en relación a las operaciones de alienación y separación en lo que respecta a la constitución subjetiva; la extracción de tal objeto del campo del sujeto o su rechazo permite distinguir posiciones subjetivas. Nos proponemos pensar la toxicomanía en relación al concepto lacaniano de libertad; se recortara la asociación entre el loco y el hombre libre ubicando como, la posesión del objeto a y su consecuente desvinculación del Otro, referida para la psicosis, conlleva la libertad del hombre. Una pregunta nos orienta: ¿Es posible afirmar que la toxicomanía en tanto síntoma de la época es una modalidad de libertad? A fin de esbozar una respuesta posible, retomaremos el planteo de Lacan sobre dicho síntoma, en tanto ruptura de la relación entre el cuerpo y el goce fálico. Palabras clave Clínica de las adicciones - Libertad - Locura - Síntoma ABSTRACT FREEDOM AND ADDICTIONS:ABOUT THE UNTYING OF THE OTHER This paper arises from the research project of the Chair of Clinic of adults and seniors of the School of Psychology of the UNLP, whose objective is the theoretical study of drug addiction as a symptom of the time. We take the definition that Miller (1998) makes of the symptom as an apparatus to locate the object a, this one thought in relation to the operations of alienation and separation with respect to the subjective constitution; the extraction of such object from the field of the subject or its rejection allows to distinguish subjective positions. We propose to think of drug addiction in relation to the Lacanian concept of freedom; the association between the madman and the free man will be reduced by locating how, the possession of the object a and its consequent dissociation from the Other, referred to for psychosis, entails the freedom of man. A question guides us: Is it possible to affirm that drug addiction as a symptom of the time is a form of freedom? In order to outline a possible answer, we will return to Lacan’s statement about this symptom, as a rupture of the relationship between the body and phallic jouissance.
