Se trabajarán las conclusiones surgidas tras una charla sobre abordaje con familiares ante casos de recién nacidos con pronóstico desfavorable y muerte neonatal, solicitada al equipo de psicólogas de Maternidad por parte del personal de Neonatología de un Hospital General. Previamente, los residentes e instructoría de Neonatología y residentes de Pediatría fueron convocados a elaborar preguntas en torno al pedido. Con el material bibliográfico que utilizaban como referencia y conceptos provenientes del psicoanálisis freudiano y lacaniano se elaboraron diapositivas para retomar al final del encuentro. La charla comenzó con la presentación de cada dispositivo, intentando localizar la demanda subyacente. Se puntuaron los recursos operativos en el abordaje de los casos, así como las intervenciones y mecanismos institucionales que lo dificultaban. En cuanto a las dificultades, algunas se relacionaban con la movilización afectiva ante la temática, otras, con recientes cambios en la coordinación del área; asimismo, la ausencia de espacios en donde trabajar la temática grupalmente. Se remarcó dentro de las respuestas ya implementadas aquellas que alojaban el sufrimiento de familiares y profesionales. Finalmente, se ofreció que se solicitara nuestra intervención no sólo para el trabajo con las familias sino con los profesionales del área interpelados por estos casos. Palabras clave Muerte neonatal - Psicología - Psicoanálisis - Hospital ABSTRACT PSYCHOLOGY IN NEONATOLOGY ROOM: AN APPROACH WITH FAMILIES IN CASES WITH UNFAVOURABLE PROGNOSIS OR NEONATAL DEATH The aim of this work is to arrive to conclusions after a talk on approaching family members in cases of newborn with unfavourable prognosis or neonatal deaths, requested to the staff of psychologists in Maternity by the Neonatology staff, in a General Hospital. Previously, Neonatology residents, trainees and Pediatry residents were invited to prepare questions about the request. With the bibliography used by them as reference, and concepts from Freudian and Lacanian psychoanalys, slides were prepared to be taken up at the end of the meeting. The talk begun with the presentation of each device, trying to locate the underlying demand. The operative resources in the approach of the cases were punctuated, as well as the interventions and institutional mechanisms that made it difficult. Regarding the difficulties, some were related to emotional effects caused by the matter, others, to recent changes in staff coordination; likewise, to the lack of activities where the topic could be discussed collectively. It was highlighted within the responses already implemented those that harbored the suffering of families and professionals. Finally, it was offered the possibility to ask for psychological intervention not only to interview the families, but also when members of medical staff needed it.
