En el presente trabajo se aborda la problemática en torno a la dicotomía cognición/cultura. La relación entre ambas es analizada a partir de los aportes de Michael Cole. En primer lugar, se introducen algunas cuestiones en relación con el enfoque que plantea a la cognición como fenómeno distribuido. En segundo lugar, se retoma el concepto de “Artefacto Cultural” en tanto núcleo teórico de la presente reflexión. Finalmente, se analizan las ventajas que ofrece el concepto de artefacto cultural, sobre todo, a la hora de pensar la dialéctica entre el legado cultural y el contexto de interacción local en el cual la cultura se actualiza. The relationship between both concepts is analyzed from Michael Cole’s contributions. Firstly, some questions are introduced in relation to the approach that poses the cognition as a distributed phenomenon. Secondly, the concept of “Cultural Artefact” is readdressed as theoretical nucleus of reflection. Finally, the advantages that offer the concept of cultural artefact are highlighted. These advantages are remarkable in the process of theorizing on the dialectic relationship between the cultural legacy and the context of local interaction in which the culture is updated.
