La ética occidental se sustenta en una concepción monocultural, expresión de los modos y los contenidos de una cultura hegemónica. La supuesta “universalidad” de los discursos éticos revela limitaciones, en la medida que ésta desconoce las particularidades socioculturales y las diferencias que singularizan a los hombres y a los grupos. En el campo de una ética aplicada, al analizar las investigaciones biomédicas, se observa que éstas también se inscriben en un paradigma etnocéntrico, dado que tienden a desconocer la alteridad del Otro, básicamente cuando ésta se asienta en diferencias culturales. Por su parte, las investigaciones psicológicas han estado influenciadas por una ideología positivista y han replicado a lo largo de la historia de su constitución el modelo médico: un modelo fundado en el análisis de un individuo supuestamente aislado y ajeno a los efectos de las determinaciones socioeconómicas y culturales que modelan su existencia. El desafío de la investigación en psicología es justamente recuperar la multiplicidad de creencias y cosmovisiones para crear un fecundo puente y un canal de comunicación con el saber científico. Palabras clave Investigación Psicología Bioética Interculturalidad ABSTRACT TOWARDS AN INTERCULTURAL ETHICS IN PSYCHOLOGICAL INVESTIGATION Western ethics are sustained in monocultural conceptions; they are expressions of hegemonic culture contents. The supposed “universality” of the ethical speeches reveals limitations, in the sense that this concept does not recognize sociocultural singularities and differences that distinguish human beings. When biomedical investigations are analyzed in the applied ethics field, usually ethnocentric paradigm emerges without recognizing cultural differences. On the other hand, the psychological investigations have been influenced by the positivism ideology and have replicated, throughout the history of their constitution, the medical model: a model founded on the analysis of an individual isolated and separated from the socioeconomic and cultural effects that shape his existence. The challenge of the investigation in psychology is the recovering of the multiplicity of beliefs and cosmovisions in order to create a prolific bridge and communication channels with scientific knowledge.
