Numerosa experiencia en terapia de pareja muestra que el afrontamiento del primer hijo suele tener consecuencias negativas para la continuidad de las parejas jóvenes. Se trabajó con una muestra no probabilística de 23 de parejas (que denominamos de crianza) que consultaron y completaron su tratamiento. Se comparó con una muestra de control de parejas no consultantes. Se midió elAjuste Marital y la Felicidad registrada mediante la escala Locke-Wallace (LWMAT) en dos oportunidades.El modelo de intervención se ajustó a un Manual de Intervención con Parejas (MIP) Se compararon los puntajes de Ajuste Marital (variable dependiente) obtenidos al comienzo del tratamiento y al año de terminado. Se realizó un análisis factorial de los factores incidentes en la varianza. Los resultados del seguimiento mostraron diferencias significativas en los puntajes pretest y postest También se observó que el nivel de Felicidad influye notablemente sobre el Nivel de Ajuste (27,26 p < 0,001 y 3.96 p < 0,05). Dos factores resultaron críticos por su incidencia sobre el 56 % de la varianza coincidiendo con los factorestratados.Losresultadoscoincidieronsignificativamente con los del análisis cualitativo mostrando la utilidad del modelo MIP como procedimiento de prevención y resolución de conflictos conyugales Palabras clave Crianza Primer Hijo ABSTRACT PROBLEM SOLVING MODEL AND SOCIAL SKILLS IN BREEDING COUPLES Numerous experience in the field of Couple Therapy has shown that dealing with a first child usually has negative consequences for the continuity of young couples. A non probabilistic sample of twenty three (23) couples (named as “breeding couples”) consulted and finished their treatment. They were compared to a control sample of non consulting couples. The Marital Adjustment and Happiness Level registered by Locke-Wallace Scale (LWMAT), were measured twice, before the first consultation and one year after the ending of the treatment as a follow-up. The model of intervention was adjusted according to the Manual of Intervention with Couples (MIP). A Factor Analysis was made on the incidental factors of the variance. The results of the follow-up have shown significant differences among the scores on the pretest and postest. It has been observed that the level of Happiness has a significant influence on the Level of Adjustment (27.26 p < 0.001 y 3.96 p < 0.05). Two factors resulted critical having an incidence on 56% of the variance coinciding with the factors treated.
