El presente texto se propone indagar la incidencia del padre en las diferentes estructuras clínicas. El aspecto sociológico así como las características de personalidad de la figura paterna resultan insuficientes para dar cuenta de la respuesta buscada. Dichos enfoques serán reconsiderados por el tratamiento del padre en su dimensión de símbolo. Por último, la posibilidad paterna de ordenar el deseo se verificará en la relación con una mujer. Dos ejemplos situarán las diferencias entre el padre en la neurosis y aquel que se hace presente en las psicosis. The sociological aspects, in addition to characteristics of the personality of the paternal figure, are insufficient to account for the answers we are looking for. These aspects will be reconsidered in the treatment of the father on the symbolical level. Finally, the paternal possibility to organize desire, will verify in the relationship with a woman.
