Lo que se propone para este trabajo es realizar una aproximación a la afectividad y a los afectos primarios que contemple la posibilidad de la existencia de una dimensión significativa propia, de tal manera que pueda llegar a considerárselos como los modos originarios de «representarse» el mundo. Para ello se iniciará un abordaje a partir de aportes provenientes de la fenomenología de MerleauPonty, en particular los que permiten vincular al sentido con la expresión y el comportamiento del cuerpo, y su puesta en relación con algunas concepciones de Freud respecto de los afectos y el sentido, puntualmente los que pueden desprenden de su artículo «La negación» de 1925, en conjunto con los desarrollos de Piera Aulagnier acerca del «pictograma» como actividad representativa de lo «originario».
