Este trabajo abordará el rol iniciático desempeñado por la Residencia de Psicología del Hospital de Niños de La Plata en los tiempos de su apertura en 1986, para la formación de psicólogos en el campo de la salud pública y las características del perfil de psicólogo al que se aspiraba. En función de entrevistas a ex-instructores y ex-residentes del Hospital, de los cuales algunos ya formaban parte del entonces Servicio de Neurología y Psiquiatría previo a 1986, se intentó establecer las continuidades y rupturas respecto de las tareas de instrucción y asistencia desarrolladas antes y después de ese año. A partir de ello, puede considerarse a la Residencia de Psicología del Hospital de Niños y las relaciones allí establecidas entre psicología, psicoanálisis y psiquiatría como un ambiente propicio para la formación de muchos psicólogos e inclusive psiquiatras en el área clínica, con una fuerte impronta lacaniana, pero a partir de un tipo particular de recepción.A su vez, el estatuto de esa Residencia en tanto una de las vías que permitieron y sostuvieron esa recepción se ve realzado dado que varios de sus residentes se convirtieron en docentes de la carrera de Psicología de la Universidad Nacional de La Plata. Palabras Clave Residencia, Recepción, Lacan, Psiquiatría Abstract THE RESIDENCE OF PSYCHOLOGY OF THE CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL IN LA PLATA AND ITS ANTECEDENTS The goal of this work is to focus on the initiatory role developed by the Residence of Psychology of the Children’s Hospital in La Plata by the time of its opening in 1986, for the vocational training of many psychologists in the field of public health and the characteristics of the psychologist profile that it was intended to achieve. After interviewing ex-instructors and ex-residents, some of which were already working at the then Neurology and Psychiatry Service before 1986, we intended to establish the continuities and discontinuities with regard to the instruction and assistance tasks developed before and after that year. Starting from that point, the Residence of Psychology of the Children’s Hospital and the relations that were established there between psychology, psychoanalysis and psychiatry can be considered as a propitious environment for the vocational training of many psychologists and even psychiatrists in the clinical area, with a strong lacanian stamp, but from a particular kind of reception. In addition, the role of the Residence as one of the ways that allowed and maintained that reception is highlighted by the fact that many of its residents became professors in the Psychology Course at the National University of La Plata.
