En el presente trabajo, se intenta mostrar como a partir del surgimiento del sujeto moral en la modernidad, se plantea la problemática de las acciones y pasiones. En este sentido, se expone como Descartes da cuenta del problema y pretende solucionarlo. En tanto que, comienza a pensar las pasiones del lado del sujeto. De mostrando que la fuerza del alma consiste en vencer las pasiones y detener los movimientos del cuerpo; mientras que su debilidad consiste en dejarse dominar por las pasiones presentes. Así mismo, se plantea como Spinoza va a retomar esta problemática confiriendo las acciones y pasiones constituyentes del sujeto. Es decir, como podemos ser agentes, ser causa y no que las cosas meramente nos sucedan. Además, esas afecciones siempre están acompañadas de una idea. Intentando juntar el agente con lo pasivo y como eso que me afecta, aumenta la potencia de actuar o la disminuye.
