El presente trabajo fue elaborado por estudiantes de psicología en el marco de una propuesta de investigación. Según los objetivos planteados por el Servicio Penitenciario Bonaerense, nos cuestionamos de qué manera son llevados a cabo. ¿Qué sucede cuando dicho gerenciamiento no cumple con las pautas básicas?; ¿es posible lograr los objetivos considerando la problemática actual de sobrepoblación en las cárceles para disminuir la reincidencia, desalentar la criminalidad y contribuir a la seguridad pública? Tomando como referencia el penal n° 36 de Magdalena se realizaron 20 entrevistas a trabajadores del servicio sobre prácticas generalizadas de tortura, falta de alimentos, condiciones de detención y sobrepoblación; los datos se encuentran en proceso de evaluación, se informaran a fin de año los resultados obtenidos. La sobrepoblación incide de manera negativa, frustra la posibilidad de acceder a las condiciones básicas esenciales de alimentación, higiene, seguridad, educación y visitas. En este contexto, los objetivos de reeducación y readaptación de los encarcelados se vuelven casi imposibles y expone al ser humano una serie de restricciones que no están previstas en la pena establecida (Eduardo Mondino, 2016). Se verificó por observación un estado deplorable de la infraestructura.A esto se suma el hacinamiento y condiciones extremas de aislamiento.
