Muchos pensadores (como Gramsci,Althusser o Foucault) han destacado que el poder no se reduce a su dimensión negativa sino que posee además una dimensión afirmativa: el poder no sólo prohíbe o reprime sino que produce valores y conceptos, cuerpos y deseos, sujetos y objetos, etc. Algunas perspectivas, principalmente de inspiración lacaniana (como la de Jorge Alemán), han opuesto esta dimensión productiva del poder a la dimensión causal del lenguaje, argumentando que el sujeto como diferencia de sí mismo no es lo producido por las relaciones históricas de poder (que arrasan con la diferencia subjetiva) sino lo causado, en términos de estructura, por el lenguaje (que garantiza la diferencia subjetiva y la vuelve ineliminable): el sujeto no es una contingencia o variante histórica, es una necesidad o invariante de la estructura. Este trabajo busca cuestionar este esquema antitético y comprobar que el poder más que arrasar con la diferencia subjetiva, la produce siempre desde condiciones históricas específicas. Al sostener que la diferencia subjetiva –en su carácter estructural- está atravesada por el devenir de la historia, este argumento permitirá demostrar la evidencia histórica y estructural de la misma, surgiendo como una alternativa al pensamiento antitético. Palabras clave Sujeto, Estructura, Historia, Poder ABSTRACT REGARDING THE SUBJECT: CONSIDERATIONS ABOUT STRUCTURE AND HISTORY Several authors (Gramsci, Althusser or Foucault, for instance) have established that power shall not be reduced to its negative dimension, that it has an affirmative dimension as well: power does not only forbid or restrain but it also produces values and concepts, bodies and desires, subjects and objects, etc. Some perspectives, mainly Lacanian (such as Jorge Alemán´s one), have opposed this productive dimension of power to the causal dimension of language, arguing that the subject conceived as difference from itself is not produced by the historical relations of power (that eliminate the subjective difference), but that it is that which is caused, in terms of structure, by language (that saves the subjective difference): the subject is not a historical contingency or variation but a structural necessity or invariant. This paper seeks to question this antithetical model and demonstrate that power does not eliminate the subjective difference but it produces it always from specific historical conditions. In arguing that the subjective difference –in its structural nature- is affected by the happening of history, this perspective will allow us to establish its historical and structural evidence, appearing as an alternative to antithetical thinking.
