Es posible advertir las profundas transformaciones que se han gestado en el campo de la salud a partir de la segunda mitad del siglo veinte. Transformaciones que se vieron incididas tanto por los avances de las tecnociencias biomédicas, como su acontecer en un momento de la humanidad singularmente atravesado por la postmodernidad. La impronta de la cultura posmoderna, aparece significada en nuevas demandas asistenciales, donde la biotecnociencia aparece visualizada como un recurso más, al cual el sujeto considera posible de recurrir, al servicio de su deseo. Es de esta manera como surge la ‘‘medicina del deseo’’, la “medicina del perfeccionamiento”, la ‘‘medicina de conveniencia”, que reflejan un conjunto de situaciones hasta ahora inéditas en el ámbito de la practica clínica, que están modificando no solo la representación y sentido de las ciencias médicas, sino que llevan al mismo tiempo a un replanteo de las tradicionales concepciones sobre salud-enfermedad. Tal escenario que desenlaza la solicitud de intervenciones biomédicas que lindan con barreras borrosas entre el deseo y la necesidad, va a generar importantes controversias entre el “saber hacer tecnocientífico” y el “deber hacer” de la práctica clínica, que solo podrán ser dirimidas a la luz de la bioética y la biopolítica. BIOETHICAL CONSIDERATIONS It is possible to notice the profound changes that have developed in the health field from the second half of the twentieth century. The hallmark of postmodern culture, appears significantly in new demand for care, which appears biotechnologic viewed as a resource in these times, to which the subject considers possible use and use the service of his desire and satisfaction. Such a scenario that unbind the application of biomedical interventions that border barriers blur between desire and need, will generate significant controversy between the “techno-scientific know-how” and “must do” of clinical practice, which can only be settled in in light of bioethics and biopolitics.
