El propósito de este estudio fue explorar la manera en que psicoanalistas y psicoterapeutas cognitivos elaboran inferencias clínicas y formulan una hipótesis diagnóstica frente al mismo material clínico donde la problemática alimentaria aparece planteada. La muestra incluye 32 psicoterapeutas agrupados según marco teórico y nivel de experiencia en el área de trastornos de la alimentación. Todos los psicoterapeutas escucharon la misma entrevista inicial grabada de una paciente, enunciaron los elementos de información que fueron necesarios y/o suficientes para construir las inferencias clínicas y la hipótesis diagnóstica. También respondieron a un cuestionario semiestructurado. Se presentan resultados acerca de los puntos de discusión y el grado de consenso en la formulación de inferencias clínicas y de la hipótesis diagnóstica, alcanzado por psicoanalistas y psicoterapeutas cognitivos con diferente nivel de especialización en trastornos alimentarios. Palabras Clave Inferencia Clínica Trastornos Alimentarios Abstract PSYCHOANALYSTSAND COGNITIVE PSYCHOTHERAPISTS: A COMPARATIVE INQUIRY ON DIAGNOSTIC INFERENCES WITH THE SAME CLINICAL MATERIAL ON EATING DISORDERS The purpose of this study was to explore: a) the ways in which psychoanalysts and cognitive psychotherapists construct the clinical inferences from the same clinical material about a patient who evidences eating problems and b) how the psychoanalysts and cognitive psychotherapists build the diagnostic hypotheses for this material. The sample includes 32 psychotherapists grouped according to their theoretical framework and level of specialization on eating disorders.All of them are given the same clinical information, and they are expected to mention and mark in the text the pieces of information that were necessary and/or sufficient to build their clinical inferences and diagnostic hypothesis. They are also required to answer a semi-structured. Some findings about similarities and differences in the way psychoanalysts and cognitive psychotherapists with different level of specialization in eating disorders, construct the clinical inferences and build the diagnostic hypotheses will be presented.
