El objetivo de este trabajo es analizar la actitud de la población hacia el desarrollo y la iniciativa individual y evaluar si esta actitud se acerca a los requisitos de libre y racional planteados para la categoría “ciudadano”. Con ese propósito, se ha indagado 361 voluntarios de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires y áreas circundantes. Para los encuestados la iniciativa individual es vista como muy importante para la vida de cada uno (94,4%). Sin embargo, cuando la iniciativa individual se presenta bajo la forma de iniciativa privada sólo el 70,6% dice que es importante para el desarrollo económico de la sociedad. Se han encontrado correlaciones positivas y estadísticamente significativas entre la iniciativa individual, la iniciativa privada y la búsqueda del desarrollo individual. Palabras Clave iniciativa desarrollo actitudes ciudadano Abstract DEVELOPMENT AND INDIVIDUAL INITIATIVE IN CONTEMPORARY CITIZEN The objective of this work is to analyze the population’s attitude toward individual development and initiative and to evaluate if this attitude comes closer to the requirements of free and rational outlined for the category “citizen”. With that purpose, 361 volunteers of the City of Buenos Aires and surrounding areas has been investigated. For those interviewed the individual initiative is very important for the life of each one (94,4%). However, when the individual initiative is presented under the form of private initiative only a 70,6% says it is important for the economic development of the society. There have been positive and significant statistically correlations among the individual initiative, the private initiative and the search of the individual development.
