La investigación científica tiende a un ideal de objetividad, y cree alcanzarlo por medio del borramiento de la subjetividad del investigador. En tanto que la investigación en Psicoanálisis, no puede realizarse si no se mantienen presentes la subjetividad del investigador y la del paciente. Jorge Bekerman (2007: 74) , propone pensar a la investigación en Psicoanálisis como una “anomalía” dentro del campo de las investigaciones científicas, en la medida que el psicoanálisis en tanto ciencia se construye no sin lo testimonial, cuestión que inaugura una investigación “bajo transferencia”. Esta anomalía da lugar a dos series de problemas: por un lado cuestiones que hacen a la técnica y por otra parte dilemas éticos que se ponen en juego.
