Es un ensayo sobre la interpretación que se inscribe en un trabajo más amplio de investigación sobre los “Usos del saber”, es decir que de lo que aquí se trata es de la relación entre la interpretación y el saber. La pregunta que pretendo elaborar es: ¿en qué saber se sostiene la interpretación analítica? ¿Por qué el analista, por ejemplo, selecciona determinado significante y no otro para repetírselo al analizante? ¿En qué se basa para elegir ese y no otro? ¿Hay acaso una materia de grado o posgrado en nuestra facultad, alguna institución psicoanalítica en donde se aprendan los criterios para separar el material precioso del material en bruto del discurso analizante?
