En el Seminario 23, Lacan nos habla del Sinthome como aquello que anuda los tres registros: imaginario, simbólico y real, enlazados a partir de este cuarto nudo. Si bien, en Psicoanálisis lo que ocupa esta función, es el Nombre del Padre, a partir de la última enseñanza de Lacan, se da lo que se conoce como pluralización de éste; un pasaje del Nombre del Padre, a los nombres del padre, posibilitando otra lectura del funcionamiento del psiquismo. Es a través de James Joyce, que Lacan vuelve sobre su misma enseñanza y llega a nuevas conclusiones, que van delimitando la teoría y la práctica psicoanalítica desde una posición diferente. Sabemos que Lacan, se toma del arte y saca una enseñanza. Lee el trabajo de los artistas y lo ensambla a su pensamiento. Algunas manifestaciones del arte contemporáneo, generan debates, preguntas no solo en el mundo artístico, sino en diferentes campos de conocimiento, incluido el psicoanálisis. Es así, que en este trabajo se pretende lograr un acercamiento, una lectura posible, entre el método Abramovic y lo que Lacan delimita como Sinthome.
