Introducción: La Teoría de la Mente (TdM) emocional refiere a la representación de los estados afectivos de los otros, mientras que la TdM cognitiva a la representación del punto de vista y el estado cognitivo de los demás. Objetivo: Comparar el rendimiento de pacientes con Demencia asociada a Enfermedad de Parkinson (DEP) y Demencia Frontotemporal variante conductual (DFTvc) en tareas de TdM emocional y cognitiva Material y métodos: Se evaluaron 34 pacientes con DEP y 26 pacientes con DFTvc. Se administró Lectura de la Mente en los ojos (LMO), Falsa creencia de primer orden (FC1º) y Faux Pas, considerando la pregunta por el quién como de componente emocional (FCce) y la pregunta por el por qué como de componente cognitivo (FPcc). Resultados: Se observan diferencias entre DEP y DFTvc para LMO, Faux Pas puntaje total, FPce y FPcc. Se hallaron diferencias entre FPce y FCcc en DEP y en DFTvc. Las medianas de rendimiento fueron inferiores en todas tareas para los pacientes con DEP. Conclusión: Los componentes emocional y cognitivo presentaron diferencias entre sí en ambas demencias. Los pacientes con DEP mostraron mayor afectación en TdM emocional. Las alteraciones en TdM cognitiva tienen el mismo impacto en ambas demencias. Objective:To compare the performance of patients with Parkinson’s disease Dementia (PDD) and behavioral variant frontotemporal dementia (bvFTD) in emotional and cognitive ToM tests Methods: 34 patients with PDD and 26 bvFTD patients were evaluated. Reading the Mind in the eyes (RME), False belief of the first order (FOFBT) and Faux Pas test were administered, considering the question of who as the emotional component (FPec ) and the question of why as cognitive component (FPcc). Results: Differences were found between PDD and bvFTD for RME, Faux Pas total score, FPec and FPcc. There were also differences in FPec and FCcc between PDD and bvFTD. Median performances were lower in all tasks for patients with DPP. Conclusion : The emotional and cognitive ToM components differ in both dementias. PDD patients showed greater emotional ToM involvement. Alterations in cognitive ToM had the same impact on both dementias. Key words Emotional Theory of Mind, Cognitive Theory of Mind
