Esta investigación se orientó a indagar las concepciones que docentes y estudiantes de la materia tienen acerca de la Psicología Clínica en cuanto a funciones, campos y modelos teóricos. Se aplicaron cuestionarios a estudiantes de la U.N.C. (al iniciar y al finalizar la cursada) y entrevistas a docentes de la asignatura en distintas Unidades Académicas. Conclusiones: al final del cursado los estudiantes dan más especificaciones para definir la Psicología Clínica; un mayor porcentaje refiere actividades de prevención (y no solo asistenciales) y otras instituciones (no solo hospitalarias). En cuanto a las orientaciones teóricas manifestaron haber ampliado la cantidad de enfoques, quedando estos en el siguiente orden: psicoanálisis, sistémica, gestalt, cognitiva, psicodrama y psicoterapia breve. Las entrevistas realizadas, indican que la concepción que sustentan los docentes acerca del quehacer del psicólogo clínico está eminentemente relacionada con la función asistencial. Algunos consideran también importante la función diagnóstica y preventiva, siendo la investigación, una de las menos mencionadas. Estos resultados podrían aportar criterios para la formación de los futuros profesionales. Palabras Clave Concepciones Psicología Clínica ABSTRACT CONCEPTIONS ON CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGY IN PROFESSORS AND STUDENTS OF THE SUBJECT IN THE DIFFERENT ACADEMIC UNITS OF THE NATIONAL UNIVERSITIES OF ARGENTINA This research was guided to learn about the conceptions those professors and students of the subject have about the Clinical Psychology as for: functions, fields and theoretical models. Questionnaires were applied to students of the U.N.C. (before and after concluding the curse) and interview to teachers of the subject in different Academic Units. Conclusions: at the end of the curse, students give more specifications to define the Clinical Psychology; a bigger percentage refers activities of prevention (and not only assistance) and other institutions (not only hospital or private office). As for the theoretical orientations they manifested to have enlarged the quantity of focuses, being these in the following order: psychoanalysis, systemic, gestalt, cognitive, psychodrama and brief psychotherapy. Interviews, indicated that the conception that sustain the professors about the clinical psychologist’s chore are eminently related with the assistance function. Some, also consider important the function of diagnosis and prevention, being research the last mentioned.
