La hipótesis de este trabajo plantea que la creencia de que el psicótico debería realizar una práctica sexual al modo neurótico opera como obstáculo (resistencial) al diálogo analítico. Esto puede operar incluso como un empuje a la desestabilización, en tanto posible reacción del paciente ante el intento del analista de imponer pautas que confrontan al sujeto con "el borde del agujero" (Lacan). Esto motiva la interrogación por la modalidad psicótica de la sexualidad en sus diferencias estructurales con las neuróticas. En estas diferencias debemos incluir la distinción entre el erotismo histérico y el esquizofrénico. O sea, el modo en que ambas estructuras se plantean a propósito de la sexuación y el goce.
