Este trabajo presenta una revisión y análisis del Cuestionario SSQ (Social Support Questionnaire) de Sarason,I.G., Sarason, B.R., Shearin, E.N. y Pierce, G.R. (1987) como una alternativa para considerar las funciones de apoyo social, estimar el tamaño de la red, tanto de familiares como de no familiares, evaluar el apoyo social percibido y el grado de satisfacción con dicho apoyo. Con este fin se analizan las seis situaciones a las que hace referencia el instrumento, cómo fue elaborado históricamente y con qué marco teórico.
