Se analiza en un grupo de cuidadores informales de pacientes con demencia en estadio leve, si la aparición de síntomas psicológicos y psiquiátricos en el enfermo influye en la cualidad del vínculo existente entre ambos, antes de la enfermedad; y si este cambio afecta el nivel de sobrecarga percibido por el cuidador. Los instrumentos administrados en forma de entrevistaa53cuidadoresinformales,fueronlossiguientes:Cuestionario de Datos Generales y Psicosociales, Caregiver Burden Interview de Zarit, NPI de Cummings & cols. y Clinical Dementia Rating (CDR) Huges C.P. y cols. Luego de realizar análisis estadísticos, se puede concluir en términos generales, en el grupo entrevistado: 1) los cuidadores manifiestan cambios en la cualidad de la relación con el paciente, tendiendo a empeorar y 2) el nivel de sobrecarga percibido por los cuidadores no mostró diferencia significativa entre los grupos de cuidadores que no modificaron su vínculo y en los que sí se modificó de manera desfavorable. PRELIMINARY RESULTS It is analyzed in a group of informal caregivers of patients with mild dementia, if the appearance of psychological and psychiatric symptoms in the patient influences in the quality of the existing relationship between both, before the disease; and if this change affects the level of overload perceived by the caregivers. A Questionnaire of General and Psycho-social data ad hoc was administered, elaborated by the authors and the following instruments were selected: Caregiver Burden Interview de Zarit, NPI of Cummings & cols. and Clinical Dementia Rating (CDR) Huges C.P. and cols. These instruments were administered as an interview to 53 informal caregivers, parallelly to the process of diagnostic evaluation of the patient. After making statistical analyses, it is possible to come to a conclusion in general terms, in the interviewed group: 1) the caregivers show changes in the quality of the relationship with the patient, tending to make it worse and 2) the level of overload perceived by the caregivers did not show significant differences between the groups of caregivers who did not modify their relationship and with the ones who did the relationship changed in an unfavorable way.
