Se presenta una reflexión sobre las categoría “género” y “mujeres” utilizadas en el proyecto de beca de Maestría (UBACyT P058, dirigido por Margarita Robertazzi) llevado a cabo en el ex Nucleo Habitacional Transitorio (NHT) Zavaleta, CABA. El proyecto indagó -con metodología cualitativa- los procesos de apropiación simbólica del espacio; participación social y transformación de los espacios habitados: interior, exterior, público y puente (Del Valle 1997). Se tomó en cuenta la construcción de un conjunto habitacional estatal, al cual tuvo acceso parte de la población residente en el asentamiento, luego de cuatro décadas de creado el NHT, focalizándose en los relatos de vida de las vecinas. Esta decisión involucró a su vez, una serie de supuestos teóricos e interrogantes: ¿cómo comprender la categoría mujeres? ¿qué aporta el concepto de género? ¿Es el espacio habitado un espacio generizado? ¿cómo se vinculan los aspectos espaciales de la experiencia humana con los aspectos de género? ¿Cuales han sido los aportes del post-estructuralismo y el post-feminismo? ¿cómo mantener una “escucha plural” de las voces de las participantes (Arfuch, 2002)? El trabajo se orienta a la búsqueda de aportes teóricos y metatéoricos no reproductores de las lógicas androcéntricas modernas de producción de conocimiento (Vallejos, 2002) Palabras clave Mujeres, Habitat, Género ABSTRACT WOMEN AND HABITAT. NOTES ON THE HEURISTIC VALUE OF WOMEN’S PERSPECTIVE IN THE RESEARCH PRACTICE We present a series of thoughts on the related categories of “gender” and “women”, as we used them in a research project (master grant, part of UBACyT P058, supervised by Margarita Robertazzi) aimed at the former “Núcleo Habitacional Transitorio” (NHT) Zabaleta, CABA. We studied—with qualitative methodology—the processes of symbolic appropiation of space, social participation and the transformation of inhabited spaces: interior, exterior, public and bridge (Del Valle 1997). Through the accounts of women neighbors, we analyzed the recent building, by the local state, of an habitational complex to which part of the inhabitants had access, forty years after the inauguration of the NHT. Choosing women as interlocutors implied a series of assumptions and questions: How should we understand the category of “women”? What is the contribution of the concept of “gender”? Is the inhabited space a genderized one? How do the space aspects of human experience relate to the gender aspects? What were the contributions of post-structuralism and postfeminism? How could we keep a “plural listening” of the voices of the different actors(Arfuch, 2002)? The present work is orientated towards the search of both theoretical and meta-theoretical contributions which are not under the modern androcentric ways of production of knowledge.(Vallejos, 2002) Key words Women, Gender Perspective, Habitat
