La autoestima ha sido considerada un componente evaluativo del concepto del sí mismo (Purkey, 1970) que depende de la retroalimentación que las personas reciben de los otros en su interacción social (González-Pienda, Núñez, González Pumariega, y García, 1997). Por este motivo, de acuerdo con Crocker y Park (2004) la autoestima depende en parte de la autoeficacia. Si bien numerosos autores destacan las ventajas motivacionales de fortalecer la autoeficacia y por consiguiente la autoestima, otros sostienen que este esfuerzo puede traer consecuencias negativas, ya que si en la búsqueda de la autoestima se encuentra exito, el sujeto se siente digno, pero si por el contrario fracasa, puede considerarse inútil. El objetivo del presente trabajo consiste en relevar los antecedentes en relación a la autoestima y la autoeficacia. La búsqueda se realizó a través de bases de datos como Google Scholar, EBSCO o Jstor. Las palabras utilizadas fueron: autoeficacia y autoestima. La búsqueda se circunscribió a los años 2000 a 2014 (páginas en español). Si bien el tema ha sido explorado, son escasos los trabajos que advierten la necesidad de revisar los aspectos negativos de la autoestima basada en la eficacia. For this reason, according to Crocker and Park (2004) self-esteem depends in part on self-efficacy.While many authors highlight the motivational benefits of strengthening self-efficacy and self-esteem therefore, others argue that this effort can have negative consequences, as if in search of self-esteem is successful, the subject feels worthy, but if Conversely fails, can be considered useless. The aim of this work is to relieve the background in relation to self-esteem and self-efficacy. The search was performed using databases such as Google Scholar, EBSCO or JSTOR.
