Como estudiantes de Psicología,colaboradores en el equipo dirigido por la Prof. Clara R. de Schejtman que desarrolla el “Estudio de interacciones lúdicas en madres y niños preescolares. Relaciones entre interacción afectiva, simbolización, temas y contenidos de juego, género de los niños y funcionamiento reflexivo y estilos maternos” (UBACyT 2013-2016). En éste marco,el presente trabajo propone realizar una revisión bibliográfica sobre el “Funcionamiento Reflexivo Materno” como operacionalización de la capacidad materna de comprender y significar acciones y estados mentales, propios y del hijo (Slade, 2005). Partiremos del desarrollo de diversos conceptos propuestos por distintas escuelas psicológicas: Teoría de la Mente (Premack y Woodruff, 1979), desarrollada por la Psicología Cognitiva; Identificación Primaria en la constitución psíquica (Freud, 1930), y Capacidad de Rêverie (Bion, 1966), desde el Psicoanálisis. Basado en dichos desarrollos, Fonagy propone el Funcionamiento Reflexivo como una operacionalización de la Mentalización (Fonagy, 1993), instrumento adaptado por Slade al elaborar la Entrevista de Desarrollo Parental -PDI- (Slade, 2005). Este instrumento aporta y enriquece al campo de la investigación y de la clínica en primera infancia, brindando aspectos y particularidades de la función materna y el vínculo madre-niño en los primeros años de vida, a partir del propio discurso materno. Palabras clave Funcionamiento Reflexivo Parental, Investigación, Primera infancia, Madres ABSTRACT THEORETICAL REVISION OF THE MATERNAL REFLECTIVE FUNCTIONING AND ITS CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE INVESTIGATION AND CLINICAL FIELDS IN FIRST INFANCY We are Psychology students, collaborators in the team directed by the Prof. Clara R. Schejtman, which has an ongoing investigation programme which studies the dyadic affective regulation, self-regulation and symbolization processes in the child, and their relation with the maternal reflective functioning and self-esteem. Our study is set within this frame, and it intends a bibliographical revision about the “Maternal Reflective Functioning”, which is the operationalization of the maternal capacity to understand and name her own and her infant’s actions and mental states (Slade, 2005). We find our starting point in the conceptual development of different psychological branches: The Theory of the Mind (Premack and Woodruff, 1979), developed by the Cognitive Psychology; the primary identification in the psychic constitution (Freud, 1930), and the Rêverie capacity (Bion, 1966), from the Psychoanalysis. Based in these developments, Fonagy promotes the Reflective Functioning as the operationalization of the Mentalization (Fonagy, 1993). This instrument was later adapted by Slade, who worked on the Parental Development Interview -PDI- (Slade, 2005). This instrument contributes and enriches the investigation and clinical fields in first infancy, providing aspects and particularities of the maternal function and the mother-child bond during the child’s first years, through the mothers own speech.
