El tema principal de este texto es la incorporación del enfoque comunitario en la política social chilena. En primer lugar, se entrega una breve sistematización de este enfoque cuyo eje central es el acoplamiento estratégico y constructivo de las lógicas institucional y comunitaria en el diseño y gestión de las intervenciones sociales. En seguida, se analiza el contexto de emergencia de este enfoque en la nueva generación de políticas sociales que se inicia en Chile con el proceso de transición a la democracia. Finalmente, se presentan brevemente tres experiencias que ilustran este proceso incipiente, gradual y creciente de incorporación: estrategia de intervención en familias de extrema pobreza (Programa Puente), investigación acción en educación de medios (Programa Novasur de TV educativa) y estudio de la inserción comunitaria de los jardines infantiles (Junta Nacional de Jardines Infantiles, JUNJI). Palabras clave Comunidad Institución Intervención social ABSTRACT THE COMMUNITY APPROACH IN THE SOCIAL POLICY The main issue in this text is the inclusion of the community approach in the Chilean social policy. First of all, a short systematization of this approach is presented. Its core axis is the strategic and constructive coupling of institutional and communitarian logic for the design and management of social intervention. Afterwards, the emergency context of this approach is analyzed for the new generation of social policy that began in Chile with the transition process into democracy. Finally, three experiences that illustrate this incipient, gradual and growing inclusion process are presented briefly: intervention strategy for families in extreme poverty (Puente Program), action-research in media education (Novasur Program of Educational TV) and a study of the insertion of infant care centers into the community (JUNJI, National Board of Infant Care Centers).
