El trabajo está dirigido a conocer las diferencias que aparecen en los estudiantes universitarios al momento de aprender y observar si estas diferencias marcan tendencias a la hora de procesar información. Primero se parte del estudio y revisión de los diferentes modelos neuropsicológicos del procesamiento de la información; segundo, se presentan aquellas revisiones teóricas relevantes respecto de las estrategias de aprendizaje; finalmente se presenta un estudio que indaga acerca de diferentes estrategias que pueden utilizarse en el momento de estudiar desde una perspectiva de las teorías del procesamiento de la información, aspecto puesto en relación con el rendimiento académico obtenido por los estudiantes en el transcurso de su carrera universitaria. Se trabajó con 301 alumnos de la Universidad Nacional de Río Cuarto con el instrumento ACRA, Escala de Estrategias de Aprendizaje (Román Sánchez y Gallego Rico, 1994) y el análisis de los datos se realizó para el grupo en general y en función de género, facultad, y número de materias rendidas. Los resultados indican: marcado uso de los procesos que llevan a la adquisición y codificación de la información; uso aceptable de las estrategias que sirven de apoyo al trabajo intelectual y uso moderado al momento de recuperar la información. UNIVERSITY STUDENTS’ CASES The work aim to know the differences that appear in the university students to the moment to learn and to observe if these differences mark tendencies when processing information. First we leave of the study and revision of the model different neuropsychological of the processing of the information; second, we present those highlight theoretical revisions regarding the learning strategies; finally we present a study that investigates about different strategies that can be used in the moment to study from a perspective of the theories of the processing of the information, on aspect in connection with the academic achievement obtained by the students in the course of their university career. One worked with 301 students of the Universidad Nacional de Río Cuarto with the instrument ACRA, Scale of Strategies of Learning (Román Sánchez and Gallego Rico, 1994) and the analysis of the data that we carry out for the group in general and in gender function, ability, and number of approved matters. The results indicate: a marked use of the processes that take to acquire and code of the information; an acceptable use of the strategies that serve from support to the intellectual work and moderate use to the moment to recover the information.
