La formulación de la segunda tópica produce una redefinición y ampliación del campo del análisis al introducir modificaciones en la clínica que, a su vez, permiten recortar e incluir nuevos fenómenos. La formulación de la segunda tópica constituye la respuesta freudiana a una dimensión clínica respecto de la cual la primera tópica resulta insuficiente. Si bien, la formulación de un Más allá del principio de placer permite resignificar el valor de lo traumático en términos de irrupción pulsional sin ligadura y poner en serie fenómenos que no encuentran inscripción en la primera tópica, es la formulación de la segunda tópica la que posibilitará recuperar e inscribir fenómenos clínicos tales como la angustia, lo traumático, la melancolía, la compulsión de repetición, la reacción terapéutica negativa, las neurosis graves, el sentimiento inconciente de culpa, y al mismo tiempo, recortar y abordar nuevos fenómenos tales como el suicido y los rasgos de carácter, entre otros. Del mismo modo, la teorización de la segunda tópica permitirá reformular los ordenamientos nosográficos previos -delimitados a partir de oposiciones binarias- al introducir un tercer grupo, y de este modo recortar un campo que -sin involucrar las psicosis- va más allá de las neurosis de transferencia. The formulation of the second topic constitutes the Freudian response to a clinical dimension respect of which the first topic turns out to be insufficient. Though, the formulation of Beyond the pleasure principle allows to remean the value of traumatic thing in terms of pulsional irruption and to put in series phenomena that do not find inscription in the first topic. it is the formulation of the second topic the one that will make possible to recover such clinical phenomena as the distress, traumatic, melancholy, compulsion of repetition, therapeutic negative reaction, serious neurosis, feeling unconscious of fault, and at the same time, approach new phenomena like the suicide and the features of character, between others. In the same way, the theorization of the second topic will allow to reformulate the previous nosografic classifications -delimited from binary oppositions- on having introduced the third group, and thus to cut away a field that -without involving the psychoses- goes beyond the neurosis of transference.
