El presente trabajo se basa en la distinción de un fenómeno clínico que se extiende en el espacio social y se presenta repetidamente en varios dispositivos de atención en Salud Mental. Dicho fenómeno consiste en sujetos que se realizan cortes en el cuerpo. Provocarse tajos en la piel se ha constituido como práctica y comprende al discurso. Adquirió nombre propio “cutters” y habita en la realidad a través de innumerables páginas, foros y blogs de, entre y sobre “cutters”. Sin embargo no se trata de un campo homogéneo. El objetivo del trabajo es identificar diferentes modalidades de este uso del cuerpo que responden a distintas funciones y operaciones psíquicas, partiendo, desde la dimensión de la estructura subjetiva, ya sea en su desencadenamiento o como suplencia; su relación al goce, la forma de relación al Otro y la incidencia de lo social contemporáneo. This research paper is based on the distinction of a clinical phenomenon, which extends in the social space, and presents repeatedly in several Mental Health attention disposals. This phenomenon consists of subjects that cut themselves in their body. To provoke cuts in the skin has constituted as a common practice and has been embedded in the speech. Has acquired a given name, the cutters, and inhabits in reality through thousands of blogs, Internet sites, and forums, about and among cutters. Nevertheless, it is not a homogenous field. The objective of this research is to identify different forms of using the body that responds to diverse functions and psychic operations, starting, from the dimension of the subjective structure, either being in its unleashing or as a substitute; its relationship with enjoyment, the form to relate with the Other and as the contemporary incidence of the social.
