A pesar de todos los cambios en relación con los roles sociales ejercidos por la mujer, la maternidad sigue configurado como una de las principales funciones que espera desarrollar en algún momento de su vida. Esta investigación se dirige a comprender la experiencia de ser madre para aquellas mujeres cuya pareja es infértil. Apoyado por la teoría fenomenológico-existencial y el uso de la narrativa como instrumento metodológico, han participado cinco madres adoptivas. Los resultados muestran que, en los casos de infertilidad masculina, hay una tendencia a que las mujeres también asumir la condición de infértil. La adopción empieza a ser vista como una alternativa para cumplir el deseo de ser madre y garantizar la continuidad de su relación amorosa. A través del cuidado del niño Ella se descubre como madre y isto trae un nuevo significado a su vida. Sin embargo, también existe la frustración, a veces acompañado de sufrimiento, debido a la falta de embarazo y de parto. Por último, el estudio da lugar a reflexiones acerca del hecho de que, para realizarse como madre, una mujer no tiene necesariamente, que engendrar a los hijos, siendo la maternidad una de las muchas oportunidades que se le presentan, y que puede elegir, o no, realizar. Palabras clave Género Maternidad Adopción Infertilidad ABSTRACT THE EXPERIENCE OF BEING MOTHER WOMEN WHOSE HUSBANDS ARE INFERTILE Even with all changes related to the social roles that woman had performed the motherhood still configures it like one of the main roles that she hopes to play in some moment of her life. This research aimed to understand the experience of being mother for adoption in the case of fertile women, but whose partner is infertile. Supported by existential-phenomenological theory, used it the narrative, how methodological instrument. Participated five mothers of adoption. The results showed that in the selfish training, the woman to see herself how whose role principal is to generate children. In male infertile case is a tendency that the woman strikes the infertile status too. The adoption is an alternative to fulfill her desire of being a mother and guarantee the continuity of her love relationship. Through motherly care, the woman discovers herself as a mother, what brings a new meaning for her live. Though, exit frustration, sometimes, in association with suffering, on account of the pregnancy absence. The end of the research suggests reflections that to become fulfilled herself as mother, the woman does not need, necessarily, to generate a child, being the maternity one of the uncountable possibilities that are shown, and that she can choose accomplish it.
