Nos centraremos en cierto grupo de fenómenos que en los últimos años han tenido preponderancia en las consultas hospitalarias. Nos referimos a aquellos modos de manifestación del malestar que ponen en juego el cuerpo, tales como los cortes reiterados, las consecuencias físicas de las peleas callejeras, y un tratamiento particular a través de diversos tipos de marcas, que se presenta especialmente en pacientes que consumen sustancias. Nuestra hipótesis supone que la marca en el cuerpo, que a falta de un mejor término denominaremos “material”, tal como las lesiones auto infligidas, funcionan como modalidad de recortar los bordes y por tanto de hacerse un cuerpo, de darle entidad y consistencia. Se trata de marcas con las que se viste el cuerpo, diferentes a las que usaba la histeria (ropajes simbólicos) en tanto que las actuales no se dialectizan. Por lo que hacen obstáculo a la intervención por la palabra. Estas presentaciones resultan solidarias con la posición del Otro actual y el estatuto que el cuerpo posee en esta época, teniendo en cuenta que lo que llamamos “cuerpo” no es un hecho dado per se, por el contrario resulta permeable a distintas significaciones subjetivas y culturales. Palabras clave Cuerpo Posmodernidad Cortes Goce ABSTRACT MARKED BODIES IN CURRENT PERIOD We will be focusing on a certain group of phenomena of which there has been a preponderance in the hospital consulting-hours during the past years. We are refering to those manners of manifesting indisposition which risk bodily well-being, like for instance repeated self wounding, and a particular mishandling of the body consisting of diferent types of marks which are especially manifest in patients who consume toxical substances. Our hypothesis assumes that the mark on the body, which, for want of a better name, we will be calling “material”, the likes of tattoos or self-inflicted wounds, (generally observed in adolescents), and other such selfinflicted injuries, serve as a modality of “trimming off the edges” and therefore creating a body for themselves, thus assuring essence and substantiality. We are refering to marks “dressing” or covering the body, which are not submitted to a dialectal process, and are thus diferent to those pertaining to hysteria, (simbolic clothing). These concepts are compatible with the present position of “the Other” and the statute which the body possesses in this period, always taking into account that what we call “body” is certainly not a given fact or entity “per se”; on the contrary, it’s even permeable to diferent meanings, subjective as well as cultural.
